Strathspey Cottage offers great value self catering holiday accommodation at the very heart of the little village of Boat of Garten. Boat, as it is known, lies in the Spey Valley on the banks of the River Spey (famous for its whisky and salmon) in the Cairngorms National Park. The cottage has four bedrooms and a large, sunny enclosed garden - ideal for those with children or pets. A double detached garage is available adjacent to the cottage for storing walking gear, bikes, canoes/kayaks, skis, golf clubs or fishing equipment.
Boat of Garten is far enough, but not too far from all the amenties of the larger towns of Aviemore (5 miles) and Grantown on Spey (6 miles). The village has two well stocked shops (one open 7 days), a great hotel/bar appropriately named The Boat, and Andersons, an award winning restaurant/bistro, all of which are within walking distance of Strathspey Cottage. The village is also known as the Osprey Village as it was the site of the original breeding pair of Ospreys to return to Scotland after an absence of over 100 years. The Strathspey Steam Railway passes through and stops at Boat of Garten Station with a regular service to Aviemore. Golf enthusiasts will relish the challenge of Boat of Garten Golf Club which has 18 holes designed by James Braid, a good test in magnificent surroundings. The cottage offers direct access to the National Cycle Network and the Speyside Way for walking.
Strathspey Cottage is a privately owned holiday cottage used by the owners for their holidays and available to rent directly from them.
